Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A Murano glass fish‑shaped sculpture/vase in vivid orange, dating from the 1960s–1970s, with a clear body and yellow‑toned supporting fins, measuring 43 cm in length, 35.5 cm in height, 10 cm in maximum thickness and weighing 2.36 kg, in excellent condition with minor age‑related wear on the base.
Description from the seller
I am putting up for auction a beautiful and majestic fish-shaped sculpture/ vase in Murano glass, dating from the 1960s/70s.
This imposing piece immediately stands out for its truly extraordinary dimensions: it measures 43 cm in length, 35.5 cm in height, has a maximum thickness of 10 cm, and a substantial weight of 2,360 grams.
To hot-work a piece of this size and with this mass of glass requires exceptional technical mastery by the glassmaker, both during blowing and shaping of the figure and in the subsequent delicate cooling phase.
The piece is made in a vivid and intense orange color, the central body presents clear, completely transparent glass capable of letting light pass through and creating splendid refraction effects, which becomes progressively denser and more saturated toward the end of the tail. The only color variation lies in the lower support fins, applied hot to support the fish, which are in a different hue that shifts toward yellow. The work is completed by protruding raised eyes and the soft, stylized lines that fully echo the Pop Art and Mid-Century taste of the period.
The object is versatile and lends itself both as a significant flower vase and as a sculptural decor piece with strong visual and chromatic impact.
The glass is in excellent conservational condition, intact, without chips or cracks, and shows only the normal, physiological vintage wear on the base, entirely consistent with its age.
Details:
Length: 43 cm

Happy bidding to all!
