Original acrylic painting by Maikel Sotomayor, titled Luz interior – XL, 2026, 93.5 x 69 cm (+5 cm margins), a warm-toned portrait, hand-signed, from Spain and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Interior light of Maikel Sotomayor is a painting in which the figure emerges from a field of vibrant color as if lit from within. The face, divided into warm tones reminiscent of fire, conveys a silent energy that does not seek to impose itself, but to reveal itself. The eyes, defined with almost ritual clarity, act as thresholds toward an intimate and deep presence.
The brushstrokes surrounding the head function as a moving aura, a chromatic pulse that accompanies the portrait’s intensity without overflowing it. The dotted line that contours the silhouette introduces a graphic rhythm that suggests transit, an identity in process, a boundary between what is shown and what remains hidden.
“Interior Light” is a portrait that does not illuminate outward, but inward: a statement of the strength that dwells in stillness, of the fire that does not burn but transforms.

Maikel Sotomayor is a landscape painter of Cuban origin, based in Madrid, whose work moves between abstraction and figuration. His artistic vision is deeply marked by the theme of migration and the exploration of landscapes both global and intimate: from the Caribbean to Europe. With an interesting international career, Maikel offers collectors a unique perspective, in which the landscape becomes a bridge between cultures and experiences.
