Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal mastery. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality between the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and plating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been merely a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculpture. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized contemporary art language, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
