Two-piece metal antique chocolate mold depicting a seated monkey, made in Germany by Hermann Walter, dating to 1910–1920, with dimensions 17 cm high, 17 cm wide and 6 cm deep, and a partially visible rim stamp “…WALTER & Co”; in good used condition with light signs of aging.

Rare antique two-piece chocolate mold of a seated ape, manufactured by the renowned German maker Hermann Walter (Berlin). The partly visible stamp “…WALTER & Co” is still present on the edge of the mold. Hermann Walter was from 1866 one of the leading producers of high-quality chocolate molds and supplied thousands of different designs to chocolatiers across Europe. The mold is made of tin-plated steel and consists of both original halves with the accompanying steel locking pins. The detailing of the fur and the expressive head make this a particularly decorative collector’s item. Suitable as a collectible, kitchen or shop decoration, or for enthusiasts of antique chocolate molds.
