Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life has roots in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and electroplating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an excellence in technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
