Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small town among the Marche hills, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing, and electroplating.
The turning point in his life came with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and suspension of time became an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “just” an excellence technique thus became the means to give life to modern pop sculptures that are vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
