# About Karl Lagasse

Born in Paris in **1981**, Karl Lagasse is a French artist renowned for his contemporary paintings and sculptures.

His most emblematic work is the sculpture **One Dollar**, which has become a major reference in his artistic career.

On the occasion of the **65th Cannes Film Festival** in **2012**, he created a piece from the **Building** series, on which several cinema personalities present at the festival affix their signatures, including **Cuba Gooding Jr.**, **Matthew McConaughey** and **Zac Efron**.

Karl Lagasse's work is also praised by the **President of the French Republic**, who personally congratulates him on the quality of his work.

In **2017**, he was selected to design the official trophy for the **43rd edition of the Deauville American Film Festival**.

The trophies created by the artist were awarded that year to several cinema figures, notably **Woody Harrelson**, **Jeff Goldblum**, **Michelle Rodríguez**, **Darren Aronofsky**, **Laura Dern** and **Robert Pattinson**.
