Goodvin Nerko - Lost in Thought

Goodvin Nerko, a visual artist based in Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain). My work revolves around the male body, desire, identity, and queer beauty. Through an intimate and sensory gaze, I explore the erotic and emotional dimension of contemporary male art.

I mainly work with oil and watercolor, techniques that allow me to capture both the subtlety and the intensity of the human figure. I draw inspiration from classical tradition, 20th-century homoerotic art, underground gay comics, and the visual narratives of the present.

Since 2018 I have participated in collective and solo exhibitions in Spain and Italy. My work was part of the official program of the Maspalomas Pride (Gran Canaria) in 2018, as well as queer exhibitions in Barcelona during Pride events in 2018 and 2019. I have also shown my work in independent spaces in Tenerife, and in alternative galleries in Rome and Milan.

In 2021 I was selected for a queer artistic residency in Valencia, focused on the body as a political and aesthetic territory.

I regularly collaborate with cultural projects and LGBTQ+ associations both local and international, contributing illustrations, posters and original works. In 2023 I participated in a virtual exhibition organized by a network of queer Latin American artists.

My paintings are part of private collections in Spain, Germany, the United States, Mexico and other countries. Through my work, I seek to create a space of visibility, tenderness and pride, where the male body is presented free of censorship and full of truth.

In addition to my work on paper and canvas, I develop digital series that I share on platforms like Instagram and online galleries, with the goal of bringing queer art to new audiences.

More than representing bodies, my art is a form of resistance, a celebration of diverse beauty, and a constant search for aesthetic freedom.
