# About Karl Lagasse

Born in Paris in **1981**, Karl Lagasse is a French artist recognized internationally for his work in painting and sculpture.

His most iconic work is the famous sculpture **One Dollar**, which has become a major symbol of his artistic career.

On the occasion of the **65th Cannes Film Festival** in **2012**, he created a sculpture from the **Building** series, on which many celebrities attending the festival signed, including **Cuba Gooding Jr.**, **Matthew McConaughey** and **Zac Efron**.

Karl Lagasse's work is also praised by the **President of the French Republic**, who personally congratulates him at an exhibition dedicated to his work.

In **2017**, he was chosen to design the official trophy for the **43rd Deauville American Film Festival**.

The trophies created by the artist were awarded that year to several cinema personalities, including **Woody Harrelson**, **Jeff Goldblum**, **Michelle Rodríguez**, **Darren Aronofsky**, **Laura Dern** and **Robert Pattinson**.
