Hamilton - - B♭clarinet - United States - 1944

This B-flat metal clarinet from the American maker has been fully restored and is as powerful as those from this top American brand. Brand: Hamilton. It has a small dent near the bell (at the back) that was repaired, but if I don’t point it out, you’ll likely take a while to notice it. Otherwise, it is impressive. It comes from the Elkart family in Indiana, and you can tell from the type of bell/collar that it’s the thicker, more patina’d model. This one, I insist, has superior power and, by the fold of the bell, I can’t distinguish it at a glance from my King Silver Sonic, no doubt about it. As I mentioned, all the quality Buffet pads have been installed and the keys have been checked for good playability and optimal pressure, without sugarcoating. This is very important for its durability, both in adjustment and lifespan. Its case has taken quite a beating over the years. But as I always say, maybe someday I’ll enjoy sanding and restoring cases, but for now I love restoring and adjusting and enjoying how the clarinets, saxophones, and flutes turn out with not a trace of leaks. It’s the essential way that when we blow into a wind instrument with our body, we feel like doing it again and again, that the air from our lungs doesn’t leak out. Another clarinet that you can’t find new on the current market, one of those I always send to this iconic, well-used (restored) auction so that smart people know what they’re buying.
