Publisher's full burgundy cloth binding with gilt title and a wide decorative composition on the upper cover depicting the arms of Paris crowned and surrounded by a laurel wreath, with the motto 'Fluctuat nec Mergitur', smooth spine gilt, all edges gilt, rear board bordered by black fillets with a central medallion bearing the editor's name and adorned with a tower, 420 pages, format in-4° (22 x 30 cm) - Richly illustrated with a frontispiece, steel engravings on guard and a very large number of wood engravings in text and on plates in black and white - Table of contents: see photos -
Good condition, however the guards and pastedowns are worn
