Description from the seller

About the series "Galaxy Advertising"

In Galaxy Advertising, Kobalt invents a language no one speaks — not even him. An improbable blend of weightless Cyrillic and martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this script is supposed to be the most spoken in the neighboring galaxies… No point trying to translate it: it says nothing, but it says it prettily. A cosmic wink at a communication from very, very far away — or just from another imaginary world.

Biographie:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the trajectory of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers very early his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his precocious talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education into the creation of his first album.

Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a rich and experimental artistic career.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt ventures into the advertising world as a designer/writer for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency in order to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted creative work, Kobalt stands out with nearly 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for appropriating magazine cover art, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay off social networks, thus preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
