Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format artwork, Medsan sends Link, the legendary hero of The Legend of Zelda, out of his kingdom of Hyrule to sit him on the edge of a Japanese train station platform at dusk, nibbling on an onigiri while waiting for his train.
The treatment is that of a twilight-painting ambiance: a gradient sky from night blue to orange, the neon glow of the drink dispenser casting a warm glow, a glowing timetable panel indicating the time and destination. The hero keeps his green tunic, his pointed cap, and his sword on his back — but his worn backpack and weary posture betray the ordinary traveler, between two trains, between two worlds.
All the charm of the piece lies in this mismatch: the chosen one destined to save the world reduced to a solitary suburbanite savoring a break. Medsan imagines the life “off the quest” of the adventurer, that suspended moment where the epic gives way to the gentle melancholy of an ordinary evening.
A narrative and atmospheric piece, ideal for bringing a pop and cinematic touch to a contemporary interior for a collector of retro video games and Japanese atmospheres.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Set up as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive exploration, blending abstract art, naive art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and overseen within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
