Description from the seller

Title: Fragmented Face #86
Series: The 1000 Faces
Technique: Acrylic on canvas

This work presents a female portrait with strong graphic presence, conceived through a neocubist composition that combines geometric balance, formal synthesis, and a vibrant chromatic organization. The figure is positioned facing the viewer on the axis of the canvas and is articulated by a precise vertical division that contrasts two visual identities without breaking the unity of the composition.

The left hemisphere of the face is rendered in a deep petroleum blue and shows a closed eye defined by an elegant black curved line that conveys serenity, introspection, and calm. In contrast, the right side adopts a warm beige tone where an almond-shaped eye with a blue-green iris remains open, establishing a visual dialogue between contemplation and presence. The lips, in an intense red, occupy the exact center of the portrait and provide a powerful chromatic accent that balances the whole.

The hair, built as a single mass of black, wavy and compact forms, frames the head with a rounded volume that emphasizes the portrait’s verticality. A small red circular element placed next to the right side of the face introduces a graphic detail that dialogizes with the color of the lips and contributes to the work’s chromatic harmony.

The background is divided into four large color planes: intense red, warm white, deep blue, and sage green. These broad geometric surfaces create a clean and contemporary visual balance, while the contrast between warm and cool colors enhances the portrait’s presence. The simplicity of these chromatic blocks emphasizes the hard-edge language and reinforces the structural clarity characteristic of the series.

The clothing continues the geometric fragmentation through large diagonal and vertical planes in blue, red, sage green, black, and cream. The arrangement of these shapes prolongs the compositional rhythm begun in the face and provides stability to the entire visual structure. The fine black lines delimiting each color plane consolidate the graphic character of the work and underscore its influence on synthetic cubism and contemporary geometric abstraction.

The result is an elegant painting with strong visual impact that fuses classic portraiture with a refined geometric synthesis. The intensity of its palette, the balance between simple forms and vibrant colors, and the cleanliness of its composition make this piece a contemporary proposal ideal for collectors seeking a work with personality, sophistication, and a strong decorative value.

The canvas is carefully rolled and securely packed in a sturdy tube for shipment.

Artistic Series:

The 1000 Faces is an evolving artistic project designed as a collection in flux, conceived both from its conceptual value and its projection in the contemporary art market. The series proposes the creation of 1000 original works, each unique, numbered, and linked to a single recognizable visual language, which makes the set a solid, collectible body of work.

My artistic practice centers on reinterpretation of the portrait through a geometric and contemporary approach. Each face is built through color planes, defined lines, and fragmented structures that generate balanced yet dynamically altered compositions. This tension between order and rupture gives each piece its own identity while maintaining coherence within the series.

The use of color is intentional and strategic: contrasts between warm and cool tones that provide visual strength and immediate appeal, qualities especially valued on platforms like Catawiki, where first impressions are key. Clean, modern, and highly recognizable compositions facilitate integration into different spaces, both private and professional.

From a collection perspective, The 1000 Faces is posed as a progressive opportunity for acquisition. Each work is numbered, reinforcing its limited character within the global project and adding long-term value. As the series grows, so does its relevance and coherence as a whole, increasing interest for collectors.

This project offers not only visually striking pieces but also a clear and consistent narrative: an exploration of contemporary identity through repetition, variation, and formal synthesis. In the context of online sales, these qualities position each work not only as a decorative piece but as part of an artistic project with vision, continuity, and potential for appreciation.

The 1000 Faces are conceived to be collected, to evolve, and to consolidate as a recognizable series within accessible contemporary art.
