Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images
Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and overlays. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Prompted by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relation to illusion and projection.
New Series – Private Worlds
In a repetitive façade where each window becomes a world, light reveals fragments of silent lives. Behind every colored square, simple gestures — almost invisible — tell stories of intimacy, waiting and isolation. No gaze meets another, no story intersects. A collection of contemporary solitudes, enclosed within their own luminous frames. This series was conceived from workflows of contemporary visual creation, using graphic tools and current digital composition techniques.
Edition & Manufacture
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear hanging system. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant laminate, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary look.
Career
Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY."
