Biography
Erró was born at Ólafsvík in Iceland in 1932 and named Guðmundur Guðmundsson.
He lives and works in Paris and Spain.
In the early 1960s, he was the first Icelander to organize and participate in happenings. He also worked with film experiments, but is best known for his images, especially paintings and collages. Erró is represented at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and Louisiana. However, the largest collection is in the Reykjavik Art Museum (Listasafn Reykjavíkur).
