Le Yack - A Certain Smile - Hand signed

On the banks of the Seine, an elegant woman in a cinched white dress and black sunglasses reads a bound volume, absorbed, while around her the life along the water unfolds: a bookseller in a beret smoking a pipe sits on the low wall, a man in a suit leafs through an engraving, a mother and her children examine an unfolded map, a cyclist with a bread basket passes by in the distance. Behind, the green boxes of the booksellers line up, a bridge crosses the river and Notre-Dame’s towers rise in the light. Semiotically, the composition orchestrates a polyphony of readers — each bent over their page, their engraving, their map — and the woman in white at the center becomes the luminous emblem. Supple facture, an impressionist touch on the foliage and the paving stones, a clear palette of a sunny Paris morning.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is a creative director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited in a network of around forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, United States.
