Steve Hiett - Giata Soldano

This is a large-format fashion photograph by the great English photographer Steve Hiett, a shot probably dating to September 1977, likely for Harper's Bazaar Italia. In the photograph we see a model wearing a kind of distinctive coat, perhaps fur, which brings to mind the designer Sergio Soldano, and this because on the back there is a large handwritten, pencil note, "GIATA SOLDANO", which at first I thought was the name of the model, but then, after research, I can't find any similar name as a Harper's Bazaar model, so perhaps Soldano is the name of the famous fur designer Sergio Soldano and the word GIATA has another meaning... Steve Hiett was a great photographer who, in some respects, revolutionized fashion photography, and among other things his black-and-white works are quite rare. This photograph is large-format, measuring 40.6 x 30.6 cm, printed on thick baryta paper and in excellent condition.
