Le Yack - Ask the Dust - Hand signed

Bright sun on a wall of whitened, flaking brick, marked by erased graffiti and a torn poster. Squatting on the sidewalk, a young woman with a blond Venetian bob, in a black lace slip, pearl necklace and black pumps, fixes the viewer with a direct gaze, arms resting on her folded knees. Semiotically, the contrast is striking: the elegance of satin, pearls and lipstick against the roughness of the urban wall and cracked concrete — grace set against the most prosaic backdrop. The sharp shadow cast on the ground, the muted red of a door to the left and the blue touches of the graffiti structure a mineral range warmer by the skin tone. Smooth finish, harsh noonday light, atmosphere of urban realism at the edge of a fashion portrait.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, aka Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is artistic director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
