Le Yack - Bonjour Tristesse - Hand signed

On a clear concrete quay overlooking a peaceful cove, two young women in vintage swimsuits face each other, as if in the middle of a confidant moment. On the left, one wears a yellow gingham one-piece, a big straw hat and heeled sandals, a white bag on her arm and sunglasses in her hand; on the right, barefoot, the other wears a pink polka-dot ruffled swimsuit with a wide black hat. Behind them, two anchored sailboats reflect in the calm water, a wooded hillside and a white house frame the horizon. Semiotically, the scene captures the suspended moment of a summer friendship — the gingham and the polka dots, the sunlit yellow and the tender pink, two coquetteries that respond to one another. The execution blends the precision of the figures with a freer touch on the water and the foliage; the bright, sun-saturated palette bathes the whole scene in the nonchalance of vacation time.

Le Yack, a French emerging pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is a creative director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is shown in a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, and the United States.
