Facsimile of the Visigothic-Mozarabic Bible from the Royal Collegiate of San Isidoro in León (Codex Biblicus Legionensis, dated 960). Limited edition: 600 copies. UNOPENED.
The volume, with imposing dimensions (48.5 cm long x 34.5 cm wide x 17 cm deep) houses a total of 1,028 pages, with 515 parchment sheets (special heavyweight Italian-made paper that faithfully emulates the original parchment), lavishly decorated with full-color miniatures illustrating biblical stories, large initial letters, and color capitulations.
Handcrafted binding in full leather over a thick board, hand-stitched, incorporates half a kilogram of pure silver used in reproducing its elaborate hardware, clasps, and protective corner pieces.
Considered one of the rarest, most valuable, and best-documented medieval manuscripts in existence, a subject of study for specialists and a coveted exhibit piece for international exhibitions. It contains all the books of the Old and New Testaments, as well as extrabiblical texts, and boasts beautiful calligraphy with abundant annotations in Latin and Arabic.
