Nighthawks Redux - Hand signed by Le Yack, a 60 × 40 cm giclée on canvas, original edition from 2026.
Description from the seller
Winter night at an American gas station: under the white, cold neon canopy, a brunette woman in a long red satin evening dress, a choker, stands on the wet pavement, one hand lifting her hair, her gaze turned to the side. Behind her, the white and red pumps, the “OPEN” neon sign, the amber-lit shop, piles of dirty snow; in the distance, car headlights pierce the darkness. Semiotically, the incongruity makes the whole scene: the elegance of a ball misplaced in the most prosaic setting of nocturnal America, the blazing dress like the sole flame of color in a world of gray, icy white, and midnight blue. Reflections on the wet ground multiply the artificial lights. A smooth surface, controlled impasto, cinematic tension inherited from Hopper.
