Three young people, each in their own bubble: on the floor, a girl in a tank top and jeans listening to a walkman, headphones on, eyes closed; in the center, a boy in a white T-shirt slumped in a green velvet armchair, eyes lost; on the right, standing against the wall, another girl in a tank top and jeans staring into space, lit by the bluish glow of an old television. Semiotically, the scene composes a geography of incomprehensibility: three bodies in the same room, three gazes that never cross, each isolated by their music, their rêverie, or their screen. The palette of gray, muffled brown, and TV-blue establishes a contemporary melancholy in a restrained, realistic facture, inheriting Hopper.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design (ESAD) of Orléans. He is a artistic director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of around forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, the United States.
