LORIN - Left behind

The expression "left behind" is commonly translated as "lasciato indietro" (left behind), but its meaning is deeper. It does not only indicate something that has been abandoned; it also tells the moment when a person chooses to continue their path without taking with them everything that belongs to the past.
"Left Behind" arises from this idea. The painting does not speak of loss, but of evolution. The figure seems to move forward without looking back, suggesting that growing up also means learning to let go of what no longer represents us. Every change requires a renunciation, and every new beginning carries with it something that inevitably stays behind.
