Alberte Aimée Mary was born to Belgian-French parents in Nice in 1931. She studied art at the Bruges Academy; she graduated in 1952 as a laureate with the highest distinction and with the government medal, which is awarded very rarely. In 1954 she received the Dr. De Meyer Prize from the city of Bruges, mentioned further in reference works among others Piron (photo).

Alberte Aimée Mary werd van Belgisch-Franse ouders geboren te Nice in 1931. Haar kunstopleiding genoot zij aan de Brugse Academie; zij trad er uit in 1952 als laureate met de grootste onderscheiding en met de regeringsmedaille, die zeer uitzonderlijk wordt toegekend. In 1954 kreeg zij de Prijs Dr. De Meyer van de stad Brugge
