This work proposes a suggestive tension between figuration and abstraction. The face emerges partially hidden by an explosion of floral and gestural shapes that invade the visual space, turning identity into an ambiguous and poetic territory. The palette dominated by blues, greens and violets contrasts with the warmth of the skin and lips, generating a vibrant balance between serenity and emotional intensity.
The free, energetic, and material brushstroke brings dynamism to the composition, while splashes and color overlays reinforce the sense of spontaneity and movement. The absence of a gaze shifts the protagonism toward chromatic expression, inviting the viewer to reflect on memory, perception, and what remains hidden behind appearances. Overall, the work conveys an atmosphere of mystery, sensitivity, and transformation.
Frank Elia González Martínez (1990), born in Cuba, studied at the Carlos Enríquez Professional Academy of Plastic Arts, where he graduated in 2010 in the painting specialty. His academic training allowed him to develop a solid command of drawing and to expand his practice toward other contemporary manifestations such as conceptual art and object art.
Throughout his career he has participated in various group and solo exhibitions, earning awards, mentions, and recognition within the art scene. Part of his work is installed in public spaces in Cuba and Poland, consolidating an international projection.
His pieces are part of private collections in countries such as the United States, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy, and France, reflecting the reach and resonance of his visual language, characterized by a constant exploration of identity, emotion, and pictorial expressiveness.
