Stem cup - Gilt brass - Giant goblet 'Napoleon'

Gold-plated metal chalice features the French imperial crest 'N' with a crown and laurel, and echoes its characteristic balloon shape (ballon) typical of glasses used to sample and warm spirits by cupping them in the hand. It is a vintage bar decorative glass, designed as an advertising display piece for a shop window and probably by commission, thus as a collectible item, which can be used as a scenic centerpiece, a vintage vase, and an ice holder. The welded metal closing base is reinforced with an internal ballast to prevent it from tipping over.
