Vintage table lamp with a wooden base featuring two small drawers, combining a classic patinated brass armature with a wooden foot, a textile lampshade, dating from 2000–2010, origin Belgium, in good used condition and not in working order; measurements: 79 cm high, 38 cm wide, 37 cm deep.
Description from the seller
vintage table lamp with a wooden base equipped with drawers. The lamp combines a classic, brass fixture with a functional wooden foot designed as a small miniature cabinet.
Features of the lamp
Lampshade (Lampenkap): A tall, cylindrical drum shade made of a coarsely woven fabric (such as jute, linen or canvas) in a warm ocher yellow or beige tint, finished with a contrasting dark piping at the top and bottom.
Fixture: A classic-shaped neck and fitting in patinated brass or bronze, including a built-in rotary switch on the base.
Base: A rectangular, dark wooden (often mahogany- or cherry-colored) base with two functional miniature drawers, complete with small round metal knobs.
Such lamps were particularly popular in the second half of the 20th century (the 70s and 80s) as atmospheric decor for a desk, sideboard or nightstand, with the drawers often used to store small items such as writing implements or jewelry. The lamp only needs to be plugged in to power it.
