BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST

Painter and Drawing Professor born in Jaca (Huesca); from childhood he lived there, it was in that city where he received his artistic training. In 1930 he settled in Barcelona. Individual Exhibitions: In 1949 Galeria Muller, Buenos Aires, Argentina. His first solo show in Spain was held at the "Casa del Libro" Barcelona-based in 1960. In 1966 he exhibited at the University of Urbana, Illinois, United States. 1968 and 1969 at Galerias Augusta of Barcelona. Subsequently he exhibited in other galleries in the City of Barcelona as well as in Olot, Lleida, Palma de Mallorca and other Spanish cities. In 1959 he was awarded the First Prize for Painting and Drawing in the Montserrat Monastery Contest. In 1960 First prize in the Fast Painting Contest of the San Poncio Fair, on Calle del Hospital, Barcelona. In 1970 Third Prize in the V Certamen de Arte del Vallés, in Granollers. Honorable Mentions in various contests such as the Artistic Contest of Jaca in 1954 and the Municipal Painting Contest of the City Hall of Tossa de Mar. Although much of his production is devoted to urban landscape (Old Barcelona), he also painted seascapes, still lifes, interiors and some portraits, using oil to execute pictures with correct color and drawing and immersed, in the way of grasping the surroundings, in the tradition of Impressionism. His Pictorial Production is spread beyond all of Spain, in Private Collections in Argentina, United States, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
