Offered is a rare and authentic set of two Soviet naval chart weights (пресс-папье), originally used aboard Soviet Navy (ВМФ СССР) vessels during the Cold War. These practical yet highly collectible navigation tools were designed to keep large nautical charts, tactical maps, and navigation documents securely in place on the chart table, even under rough sea conditions.

Manufactured from heavy black carbolite (the Soviet equivalent of Bakelite) with a substantial internal lead core, these weights combine durability with impressive weight. Their integrated rubber bases prevented charts from slipping while protecting delicate paper maps from damage.

One weight features a beautifully sculpted raised anchor, a classic maritime symbol associated with the Soviet Navy. The second carries the export marking "СДЕЛАНО В СССР" ("Made in USSR") together with the English export stamp "MADE IN USSR", indicating production for both domestic and export markets.
