Magnificent "NiRAYAMA" from Samurai, a jingasa in thick leather, foldable/flat.

It is entirely in black lacquered leather with gold decorations.

With the clan emblem of the Samurai Karabana-flower Chinese flower used by different clans, and symbolic turtles of luck and longevity..

This Nirayama or Nirayamagasa 韮山笠 is decorated on both faces in identical fashion.

The interior is lacquered red "shu-urushi" with its cords.

It is in good overall condition, 18th/19th century.

L' interieur est laqué en rouge "shu-urushi" avec ses cordons .

IL est en bon etat general 18/19 eme siecle.
