AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Oil on canvas
Still life
Italian school
Signed: G. Pardo at bottom left
Period: 19th-20th century
The gilded, contemporaneous frame is in finely carved wood
Dimensions: 60x81; 50x74 outside the frame
The work depicts a woven basket with apples and green and yellow fruits, flanked by a tarnished metallic carafe and by large cut flowers (chrysanthemums or peonies) in pink and white tones. The style shows strong chiaroscuro and dense tactile rendering, in line with the influence of the Neapolitan school (Morelli and Palizzi) that Pardo attended during his formative years.
On the back there is a wooden stretcher with a central crossbar and a canvas that presents an age patina coherent with the late 19th or early 20th century. A higher numerical marking ("20 M"), usually associated with the standard frame measurements of the period, is visible.
Good general condition.
There are light, superficial losses of color at the top left and bottom right. (see photo).
There are no restorations
Patinated
Provenance: private collection
Tracked shipment with courier
N.B
The frame is considered a gift
Therefore, on request, shipping is at the buyer's expense.
I will be available for a possible quote.
