Object Description

Characterful set of two Mid-Century architect/desk lamps, made of brass and featuring distinctive cylindrical light shades. Thanks to their functional design, they provide focused and even lighting, which is why this type of lamp was widely used on architectural firms, drawing boards, offices and other workspaces. Today these lamps are popular for their timeless form and fit well within a Mid-Century, industrial or vintage interior.

The set consists of two different variants:

- an architect lamp with a straight brass stand;
- an architect/desk lamp with an elegantly curved arm.

Both lamps are made of brass and have developed a beautiful natural patina over the years that underscores their authentic character.

Electrical operation has been tested; both fixtures function properly.

One of the incandescent bulbs is defective. To demonstrate the operation of both fixtures, the working bulb has been temporarily placed in both lamps for the photos. In the socket of the defective lamp there is a small piece of cardboard from the bulb’s packaging. This was used as filler so the bulb sits securely in the socket.

The lamps are in good used condition with normal signs of wear and age, including light scratches, discolorations and wear appropriate to age and use. The tall lamp is equipped with the original felt base; the short lamp has a black base plate. The photos are an integral part of the description.
