Description from the seller
Title: Dome Light and Village
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 40x50 cm
In this oil on canvas work (40x50 cm Fabio Costantino orchestrates a vibrant urban landscape where figuration blends with a lyrical and almost abstract sensibility. The subject, a evocative coastal overlook dominated by the majestic silhouette of a monumental dome, emerges through a painting of bold gesture and materiality.
The composition is paced by Mediterranean architectures in the luminous tones of white and ochre, interrupted and vivified by decisive and warm brushstrokes of orange, red and solar yellow. In contrast to the warmth of the houses, the imposing dome rises in a cyan blue and deep indigo, almost ethereal, set against a blurred background of lavender, lilac and pearl gray tones that evoke a rarefied, dreamlike atmosphere.
The lower part of the canvas dissolves into intense tones of cobalt blue and ultramarine, with touches of green and spatulated vertical brushstrokes that recall the mirrored reflection of water or the cliff facing the sea. The generous use of material and the energetic spatula give dynamism and three-dimensionality to the entire surface.
The work captures the essence of Mediterranean light with a modern and suggestive style, signed by the artist in the lower left (F. Costantino), making it a perfect example of contemporary figurative landscape with a strong visual impact.
