Description from the seller

In form and light is a photographic project that investigates the primary relationship between matter, space, and illumination. Architecture is not understood as a mere functional structure, but as a silent body that takes shape through light.

Photography becomes a tool of subtraction: it eliminates the superfluous to focus on essential volumes, surfaces, and geometries. Light, whether natural or artificial, is not a descriptive element but a constructive one; it shapes forms, reveals their tensions, and redefines their boundaries.

The photographed spaces appear suspended, deprived of a precise temporal dimension. The absence of the human figure accentuates a contemplative, almost metaphysical perception, in which architecture becomes autonomous presence, capable of dialoguing with the viewer’s gaze.

Between form and light, it occupies a border territory between architectural photography and artistic research, where the image does not document but interprets. It is an inquiry into how light transforms space and, at the same time, how space returns the light.

About the artist:
I am Erminando Aliaj, an artist and photographer based in Brescia. My passion for photography has grown over the years to become the heart of my artistic and professional path. Through my work I explore themes such as identity, diversity, and human connections, trying to tell stories that go beyond the visible, to evoke emotions and reflections.

My photographic research has taken me to travel in South America, Southeast Asia, and many other parts of the world, documenting places and people with the aim of creating a universal dialogue through images. I like to work with settings that go beyond the urban context, preferring symbolic scenarios that exalt the relationship between body, space, and narrative.

I have exhibited my works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. My photographs have been published in magazines such as Vanity Fair, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Elle Spain, Corriere della Sera, Repubblica, and others.

I have photographed portraits of numerous famous artists, including Stefano Bollani, Marie Agnes Gillot, Fatima Robinson, Irene Grandi, Bob Sinclar, Ermal Meta, Colapesce, and many others.
