In this oil on canvas, Sciacca abandons the rigidity of classical forms to delve into a surreal and metaphysical territory, creating an image that seems to emerge directly from the subconscious.
The absolute protagonist is an anthropomorphic crescent moon.
Within the crescent moon is embedded a human face.
The skin is alabaster white, barely warmed by pinkish hues on the cheeks and lips.
Its eyes are a deep, clear blue, fixed on the observer with magnetic depth.
The moon does not float in the sky but rests on a plane; next to it on the left we find an orange (or a miniature sun) and on the right a container in violet and amber tones that recall pharmaceutical ampoules or Morandi vases.
The background is dark, almost nocturnal, with shades shifting from smoky gray to dark green, allowing the lunar figure to pierce the canvas with its inner luminosity.
