Fascinating and rare Longines square-shaped wristwatch dating exactly to 1950, characterized by an extraordinary stepped case in solid 14-carat gold that measures 28 x 28 mm excluding the crown and lugs. This specific model represents a piece of watchmaking history, born from the Longines-Wittnauer collaboration for the elite North American market of the era: the Swiss manufacturer exported the movements which were subsequently fitted into splendid cases in gold of American manufacture, as certified by the original 14K hallmarks on both the outside and inside of the case back. The vintage dial offers a magnificent perimetric texture with vertical striped bands, completed by geometric indices and applied gold Arabic numerals and the classic feuille-style hands. Inside beats the renowned and robust manual-wind mechanical movement from Longines manufacture, the 23Z with 17 jewels, finely finished and identified by serial number 7944684 that confirms its year of production. The watch is completed by a green leather strap that creates an exceptional color contrast with the warm gold tone.
