Tall, splendid, fully rounded sculpture of a Geisha in traditional attire. The work stands out for the rich detail and meticulous carving.

Subject and Composition: The figure is depicted in an elegant, balanced pose, with a burden on the shoulders carrying three different wicker baskets and containers. This iconographic composition contrasts the refinement of the female dress with the rural tools of work, creating a suggestive genre scene rich in dynamism.

Details and Craftsmanship: The most precious element lies in the kimono decoration, whose surface is densely covered with engravings and carvings that reproduce floral motifs (chrysanthemums and vines) and Oriental geometric patterns. The hairstyle is the classic nihongami, finished with detailed ornaments (kanzashi).

Material and Workmanship: The statue is made of carved resin composite, a material commonly known as Ivory substitute, very popular in the mid‑century for its ability to reproduce the density, finish, and weight of ivory. Base: The sculpture rests on its original integrated base in dark cast iron, finely carved with botanical motifs.
