AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A sculpture by Angelo Scardino characterized by a striking interweaving of figures, solids and voids. A human presence outlined by a black lattice wraps around a white figure, whose arm extends toward the outer space.

The contrast between white and black and between a continuous surface and an open weave texture gives the composition a strong visual presence. The gaze travels through the structure, revealing overlaps and different details depending on the viewing point. The work lends itself to readings on the relationship between interiority and appearance, protection and freedom.

Exhibition and publication

The work was exhibited at the sixth Contemporary Art Show “CORTONA IN ARTE,” held in Cortona (Arezzo) from September 19 to October 4, 2026, and is published in the show's catalog.

An work aimed at those who collect contemporary sculpture and seek a figurative composition with strong visual contrast, accompanying an exhibition itinerary and a bibliographic reference.

Insured and trackable shipping, with professional packaging and an authenticity certificate signed by the artist.

Biografia dell’artista

Angelo Scardino was born in 1986 in Grottaglie (TA), the land of ceramics, where he began the early steps of his artistic career.

At the Liceo Artistico “Lisippo” in Manduria he trained in the plastic and sculptural fields, then in 2007–2008 earned a first-level academic degree with top marks (110/110 and honors) at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Lecce.

In 2009–2010 he obtained the second-cycle degree, again with 110 and honors, with a theoretical thesis titled “The Sculpture of the Void,” devoted to the study and realization of sculptural models based on negative spatiality.

In 2012 he moved to Mantua, and currently lives and works as a lecturer in Verona.

His works are part of public and private collections in Italy and abroad.

Among recent participations are Paratissima Torino 2024, in the show “Tune In,” Paratissima 2025 in Moncalieri, with “Unpredictable–Untitled,” and the sixth edition of “Cortona in Arte” in 2026.

Alongside his individual path, he works with Cinzia Ascari in the duo A_SCAR, dedicated to the relationship between nature, matter and memory. In 2026 the duo won the MG Award for sculpture at the Premio Arte with “Custodi invisibili,” whose exhibition is planned at the Museo della Permanente in Milan from 13 to 18 October 2026.
