Rashaida jewelry - Rashaida - Sudan

A fine collection of old Rashaida jewelry consisiting of three different items.
Firstly an embroided cloth used as a headpiece of a burqa; embroided with tiny metal beads (sometimes oxydised). Lenght. 40 cm. Secondly a beautiful headpiece in included made of interlocked silver clasps decorated with lozenge-shaped appliques and two beautiful finials at both sides. The small bells, added as an extra decoration, are made of low- grade silver. Lenght.; 41 cm.
Finally a necklace is included made of tiny low-grade silver beads and pendants interspced with tiny orange glass beads imitationg coral. lenght.; 27 cm ( half size). All items were collected in the Kassala region in the year 1999.
