Born in Viterbo, Italy, in 1979, Michele Telari graduated from the Liceo Artistico Tuscia before earning his degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. His artistic practice combines traditional painting techniques with a contemporary sensitivity, focusing particularly on atmosphere, light and urban landscapes.
Telari has exhibited extensively in Italy and internationally, including solo exhibitions in New York and participation in major European art fairs. His works are held in numerous private collections and have appeared regularly on the international art market.
“Fifth Avenue” is a characteristic example of Telari’s celebrated cityscape series. Using expressive monochrome washes and confident brushwork, the artist captures the atmosphere of one of New York’s most iconic streets. Rather than depicting architectural detail alone, Telari conveys the mood of the city through rain, reflections, silhouettes and soft light, allowing the viewer to experience the quiet rhythm of Manhattan on a rainy day.
Despite its intimate size, the composition has remarkable depth and visual presence. The restrained palette enhances the dramatic interplay between light and shadow while demonstrating the artist’s mastery of watercolour.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind work acquired directly from the artist and will be carefully packed between rigid protective materials to ensure safe international shipping.
