Rare Murano glass goblet in the Tipetto style, dating from 1900–1910, with a slender 28.5 cm tall stem and a 9 cm wide bowl, decorated in gilt with floral, foliate, and geometric motifs and a sculptural ribbed stem with sapphire-blue flowers, in very good antique condition.
Description from the seller
A rare, refined, and highly decorative sculptural Murano glass goblet, beautifully representing the traditional Venetian “tipetto” style.
Dating to the early 20th century, this elegant piece is distinguished by its exceptionally slender proportions, elaborate hot-worked stem and striking applied floral decoration.
The tall, slightly flared bowl is made of delicately textured clear glass with a warm, subtly opalescent appearance. It is richly decorated by hand with gilt ornamental motifs, including stylized flowers, foliage, berries, and geometric details, arranged in a harmonious, symmetrical composition.
The most remarkable feature of the goblet is its highly sculptural stem. Formed from a succession of molded and ribbed glass elements with warm golden highlights, it is embellished at the center with an elaborate arrangement of hand-applied sapphire-blue glass flowers, accompanied by clear glass leaves and petals. Each flower has been individually shaped while hot, giving the piece a lively, three-dimensional quality typical of the finest Venetian decorative glass tradition.
The goblet rests on a broad circular foot, also decorated with a delicate ring of hand-painted gilt motifs, visually echoing the bowl's decoration and completing the composition with remarkable balance.
The combination of the pale glass, warm gilding, and light-blue floral applications gives the piece an especially elegant and theatrical appearance, making it a wonderful example of Venetian glass craftsmanship and a highly decorative collector’s object.
Dimensions:
Height: 28,5 cm
Maximum width: 9 cm
The goblet is in very good overall antique condition, with no evident major losses or structural damage. There are normal signs of age and use, including some expected wear and fading to the gilt decoration, consistent with the period. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
The item will be professionally and securely packed, with particular care given to the delicate applied floral elements, and shipped worldwide by tracked express courier.
