Robert Maguire, M.A. and is richly adorned with wood engravings by H.C. Selous and M. Paolo Priolo. The edition belongs to the finest 19th-century illustrated editions of this classic work.
Bound in the original half-leather binding with marbled boards. The book is complete with title page, frontispiece portrait of John Bunyan, list of illustrations, and the richly illustrated text. Under the frontispiece is a printed facsimile signature of John Bunyan as part of the illustration.
The interior is largely clean and well-preserved, with light foxing and normal signs of aging. On the endpapers there are old owner's inscriptions ("Mrs Harvey"), contributing to the book's historical provenance.
