Artwork on paper by Peter Robert Keil (born 1942 in Züllichau/Pommern). Acrylic on paper, signed at the bottom: P. Keil. Framed behind a mat with glass. Dimensions of the image: height approx. 60 cm, width approx. 40 cm. Dimensions with frame: height approx. 73 cm, width approx. 53 cm, depth approx. 3 cm.

The painter and sculptor Peter Robert Keil was born on 6 August 1942 in Züllichau, Pomerania. After starting an apprenticeship as an art smith in 1956, he studied from 1959 to 1961 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He cultivated contacts with other well-known artists such as Georg Baselitz and Markus Lüpertz. From the early 1960s he lived and worked in various cities such as Paris, London, Berlin and in the USA as well as on Mallorca. During his Spanish period he also met Joan Miró several times in his studio. All these experiences found their way into his extensive oeuvre and testify to a corresponding range of facets. He was and is active successfully in a wide range of fields of the plastic arts. He currently lives and works again in the USA.
