Silvio FORMICHETTI, a highly renowned figure in the contemporary art scene, was born in 1969 in Pratola Peligna (AQ). The early works of Formichetti, dating from his beginnings, are distinguished by the representation of female nudes and landscapes of the Abruzzo hinterland.
However, it is in the mid-1990s that he develops a significant interest in informal painting, being influenced by the works of artists of the caliber of Pollock and the proponents of American Action Painting, as well as figures such as Dova, Afro, Vedova and Hans Hartung.
His works have now reached high prices and are present in public collections across Europe
