Mobby Ehrentreich (1940) - Lightline III

Mobby Ehrentreich (actually Herbert Ehrentreich, born 1940 in Nördlingen) is a German object artist, painter and designer.

Artistic specialty: He is especially known for his 'mixed technique behind acrylic glass' developed from 1973/74 onwards. He creates abstract compositions, collages as well as three-dimensional art and metal objects.

Background: He studied at the Werkkunstschule as well as the renowned University of Design (HfG) in Ulm (including with Max Bill and Otl Aicher).

Technique: It is a relief-like wall object, produced in his characteristic mixed technique on wood under acrylic glass.

Style & Effect: The work lives by clear, geometrically abstract lines and the play with light. Through the layering and the front acrylic glass a deep, almost floating dimension (Lightline) arises – depending on viewing angle and light incidence.
