Pair of San Pietro and San Paolo busts on a Portuguese Roman-style petrified marmoreal base – 20th Century

Elegant and rare pair of busts depicting Saint Peter and Saint Paul, petrified marmoreal stone, a smooth and compact material, not plaster nor scagliola – therefore ideal even for outdoor display.

Both busts are mounted on fine marble bases in excellent condition. The sculptures show defined features and careful attention to detail, the work of an expert hand, probably an Italian sculptor active in the mid-20th century (approximate period: 1940s–1960s).
