Hermès - SPRINGS by Philippe Ledoux - Foulard

Magnificent Hermès scarf in silk twill titled "Springs", designed by the artist Philippe Ledoux in 1974, reissued in 1981. A great classic among Hermès carré scarves. Hand-rolled. Made in France. Hermès Paris logo, Hermès C copyright, artist's signature Ledoux. Presence of a composition label. A little history:
"Inspired by an engraving kept at the Château de Malmaison, this scarf by Philippe Ledoux, one of the house Hermès's historic designers, features in its center the Phaëton of Napoléon I's son. This horse-drawn carriage takes its name from the son of Helios, the personification of the sun in Greek mythology. Grasping his father’s solar chariot, of which he lost control, Phaethon perished after nearly embracing the world. This sumptuous little carriage is adorned with all the trappings of empire. Built in 1812 by the coachbuilder Tremblay, it is kept at the Schönbrunn Palace, in Vienna, where the emperor's son spent a large part of his life".
According to Arfon’s Dictionary of Art Squares, it is considered fairly rare and fairly sought after (photo attached).
Very good vintage overall condition despite a tiny stain (last photo).
