Paula Lopes presents Máscaras da Alma II, a diptych of two unique mixed‑media abstract relief masks on canvas, each 40 × 50 cm, signed, dating from 2026, with gold metallic detailing and ready to hang.
Description from the seller
“Masks of the Soul II” is a contemporary diptych comprised of two unique mixed-media works, where abstract painting and sculpture come together to create a visually striking experience.
The three-dimensional masks represent the different identities we assume throughout life: strength and vulnerability, reason and emotion, light and shadow. Although distinct, the two pieces dialogue with one another through geometric shapes, textures, contrasts, and gold metallic accents, creating a balanced and sophisticated composition.
The minimalist backgrounds, marked by architectural lines and free gestures, offer depth and movement, while the masks seem to emerge from the canvas, inviting the viewer to reflect on what we show to the world and what remains invisible.
Created to be displayed side by side, these works transform any space into an elegant, contemporary, and personality-rich environment.
