Object description

Elegant and richly crafted French wall lamp in Louis XV Revival style, made from heavy cast brass and featuring a beautifully modeled putto (cherub) that supports the light source. The high-quality casting, refined Rocaille ornamentation and open-work backplate attest to solid craftsmanship from the first half of the 20th century.

The lamp is fitted with an impressive cylindrical crystal shade, built from cut crystal beads, long prism rods and drop pendants. These create a particularly beautiful play of light and give the lamp an elegant and luxurious appearance.

The cast brass has developed a lovely natural patina over the years, allowing the decorative details to come into their own. The combination of the richly worked putto, the classical Louis XV styling and the splendid crystal shade makes this wall lamp a characterful decorative object that fits well in both a classic and an eclectic interior.
